Birds Show Birds

Excellent and very nicely composed.
and were very noisy.
That made me smile. For the non Aussie contingency these are one of the noisiest birds about. Especially when flocked together. Deafening!
Yes very true Richard. I hate their screeching sounds and we do not feed them. Neighbours a few door up do feed them, and they have the flock sitting on their balcony railing (chewing the wood), most of the day.

I'll say, Richard! We have a flock of them in our neighbourhood ATM. Lovely to hear and see them, particularly around dusk.

They also learn to talk well in captivity, like our galahs and African grey parrots.

our male Superb Fairy Wrens change to full colours in breeding season. Well some actually are fully coloured all through the year apparently.
These show the changes that take place.
This one has a bit to go and I'm not sure if its the same one with just some tiny specks from a month or more back.

Richard, I have an idea that the dominant males retain their breeding colours, but can't be certain of that.

This guy showed up at the swamp today. Not exactly sure what it is. I thought it was a Blue Heron but it's plumage is certainly more varied in color than the Herons I've been shooting. This guy looks older and wiser, like an Obi Wan Heronobi. It looks like what you'd end up with if Tennessee Tuxedo got into a head-on crash with a Grey Goose. Perhaps someone here that knows about these things could positively identify it for us.

A few Osprey images back in April. Those talons!!!

Didn't expect the bird to take off. It went after a bald eagle, whom circling around to try to steal the fish when Osprey gets a fish. I didn't expect EM1.3 AF to catch up at that slow SS.

Finally, some more cygnets. Been very few so far at Clive.

Unfortunately they were all at the long end of the lens .......

Wondering if this is the same shag as last week, as on the seam post, and looks very similar.

Even although I was quite far away, parent swan ushered the cygnets out of sight ......

Ospreys migrate through where I live during spring and fall. They don't show up at once in high number but 1-3 at a time for a week or so for about a month (April-May and Sept-Oct). I hope to find time and get some images of fall migration with the new OM-1 soon.

For now, continuing with images taken back in April.
