Birds Show Birds

Side-note, swallows … are about the hardest thing I’ve ever tried to photograph. I’m getting better, but sheesh.
Tip: Much easier to do when they are young!

…this year so far, not only we have had a very cold April & May that fouled the first lay of eggs but also the nest has been upbuilt to leave room just enough to poke an iPhone to take a snap:

While shooting the swallows this morning I noticed a bird in the distance on top of a bare tree. I thought it was an Eagle as they are plentiful in the area I was shooting., but it seemed a bit different. I was surprised to zoom in and see an Osprey surveying the pickings below. I've only seen an Osprey a couple of times and only been able to grab one other shot from a distance in flight awhile back that wasn't too good.

This shot this morning was a good distance and a fair crop away, but I was happy to get an Osprey image that was at least positively identifiable. I'll be headed back to this spot more this summer when I have some free time.
