Show "Car"

I LOVE my 3.5l V-6. Car is quick enough to get me in trouble and has all the bells and whistles I want in a car and none I don't need. Plus it gets 28mpg when I keep my foot out of it, which doesn't happen as often lately.

I thought to myself 'that's an Accord' when I saw the back end in the Bicycle thread! I have an Accord, my 2nd, it's a bloomin' good motor.
When I saw that glimpse of the back end, I thought "that must be a nice motor" and looking at the full image I see I was right.
That's got to be the loveliest Honda ever.
Are they still in production?

Ugly, just f'ugly.

Look at the Silver Shadow III (1966?) for just one example of a very large car that has beautiful lines and looks. XJ6 Jaguar. Etc.
I think you miss the point John. What is considered to be good looking one day, may not be so on another. But quality; now that lasts and lasts and lasts! And lasts! And no Jag has ever compared with a Roller for quality.

Tim, while BMW still builds them magnificently, they would have to be as ugly as they come! Put tracks on them, then invade France ...

Geez, even I could design a nicer looking car, and I've got the aesthetic sense the gods promised to a doorknob, and then failed to deliver!

I think it's safe to say most people wouldn't buy that car in the picture even if they could afford it, it seems to me to be primarily for show and as I always say, there's the running costs. Put it this way, an accountant wouldn't buy one.

As a member of team tall I don't like the current Beemah's, Mercs or Jags, they feel like a Vauxhall (or where John comes from Holden) when you sit inside them as a passenger or driver. This has been the case for the last 20 years or so. That wasn't the case in the 70s or 80s. As Charles foreshadows, the changing shapes of vehicles and the speed with which they become old hat astounds me. I will get that Volkswagen Beetle one day.

Tim, you would love my wife's 2009 Subaru Forester (SH). Even one of her lecturers, who is 6'6"+, was quite comfortable in the back seat! Lots of headroom and legroom. Same for the driver. Seat is at bum height for getting in and out.

My SG is smaller all round, but I prefer that.

Unlike both our Camry and Impreza, which were low, and all but impossible for me to get in and out of by 2011, when we traded both in on the pair of Foresters.
