Not likely. We buy Hondas because they are reliable and enjoyable to drive (vs Toyota lol) and we keep our cars for a long time. Our other car is a 2011 CRV. It has 210K (Kilometres), so the K24 is just breaking in. 😉
We are much the same, but there is danger lurking in the weeds.
My wife bought a 2016 Acura MDX loaner from the dealer about 8 years ago. Unfortunately the range of cars has a crankshaft issue that Honda is desperately trying to avoid a recall on.
They were built in two places (don't remember where) and the cars built in one location have all been recalled. Remediation varies from replacing bearings to an entire engine replacement.
There is sufficient evidence to conclude that the cars built in the other location have the same issue, but a recall has not been announced.
Accordingly, resale value has plummeted to virtually nothing. A used replacement engine is in the $10k neighborhood if needed.
Ours falls outside of the current recall at present. The problem is we're talking in the neighborhood of 3.5 million engines so even if a recall is announced it's going to take quite a while to work through.
We've got around 60k miles on the car, about the mileage when many others have had issues. From my understanding, little to no warning is given before the death rattle.
My wife wants to go to New Orleans, and I'm dragging my feet. My luck is the thing will die somewhere between here and there creating interesting logistical hurdles.
