Rarely have I seen the sun casting these intense and long shadows through the clouds.

It lasted for almost 2 hours. Getting up close and personal with the sunset while waiting in the fields after work in hopes of catching some birds through the sky for more dramatic effect.

Instead, I got presented with some intriguing cloud formation and illumination. I have never seen clouds so detailed where I can see little atmospheric effects (on the top left side of the picture) on the clouds themselves, valleys as if they are gigantic waterfalls (upper right side of the picture), or self shadows being cast withing the clouds (middle left side).

Love the sun-rays on this one!

I heard a couple of weeks ago that there's a lot of volcanic activity that's causing the stunning orange/red sunsets and sunrises we've been seeing lately.
