Just a little "behind the scenes" stuff with a couple of images: different cameras, different processing, hardly any change in actual lighting (taken maybe a couple of minutes and a few dozen steps of each other).
The first image is just an attempt to enhance what the camera gave me. Taken with a lens that people deem "not that sharp". Looks fine to me ...

With the second file, I (again) worked against what people say. Poor shadow recovery? Let's see ... Truth be told, I could have gone a lot further, but left it at that. The original was clearly darker and somewhat flatter than the first image! Just different adjustment of curves and a little more shadow recovery, minor noise reduction, end of story.
