Something made me come back at this shot of Suomenlinna, taken in October. Somehow I remembered the picture having a good overall "shape". When I first saw the pic on my revisitation, it had somewhat ugly colorful elements. Turning it to B/W didn't help that much. Then I turned to the "film simulation" presets and figured whether a higher-key preset would work. It resulted in a very wonderful idea, a fantasy version of the actual scene. I ditched the channel mixer from that preset, returning back to color, and then finetuning the curve.
I suppose this pic didn't catch my eye the first time around because the review version or SOOC was just too boring.
