I really like the tones of your latest Df pictures. Have you done a lot post-processing?
This has hardly any work done on it. I slapped a film-simulating curve on it and then pushed exposure as the tone curve darkened it quite a bit. That's it! I use LUTs a lot these days but this is another way to color grade, using RGB tone curves. They are designed with CaNikon files in mind so they don't work as nicely with my Leica files, but in this case this raw file is from Nikon so they're okay.

Lens corrections, noise reductions and yes, even basic sharpening are all disabled, off.* With Nikon Df and the Ai lenses I get very much the result I love.

* Okay I always forget that there's another stage after Darktable has exported the JPEG file where my DAM resizes and applies a bit of sharpening because otherwise the effects of double JPEG encoding shows a bit.

Great, I thought so. There’s definitely something in Df sensor and camera. Pictures taken with it pleases me a lot, maybe that’s why I’ve kept it in the repertoire, still. I just wish it could better fit to my way of taking photos. EOS 5D does and the 50mm F1.2L is very capable overall lens. So I pick up that camera almost every time, but I shouldn’t forget the Df…
