Took out a little vintage gem this evening: The Leica Summicron-C 40mm f/2. Not only was framing it on the M8 not as bad as I thought, I really like the outcome!
On the one hand, I stuffed up the shot, I thought I was shooting this at F1.8. On the other hand, I can post this as an example that, if you're looking to simply blur the background, F1.8 or faster just isn't needed, in this case, although the focal length is a bit long, F4 was fine for that purpose.
