The shallow depth of field is optical. An 180mm lens at f/4.
The image dates from the time I did all my b&w conversions in LR after converting the raw files in DxO PhotoLab (Optics at that time). Now I use Silver efex or DxO FilmPack.
Using the Temperature and Tint, I tried to get a widely distributed histogram. Normally this gave a hideous result in colour but then I clicked b&w and went further from there.
If all this looks really calculated it's not. I take the image where my feeling tells me it should go.
That means that the result is highly influenced by my mood of that moment. If I were to start from scratch, I most likely would end up with something completely different
I have a day job that calls upon my rational and analytical skillset so, I find an antidote in my hobby that I make mostly about feeling and mood
