Not actually a flower, some sort of succulent.

Chaos amongst the Wildflowers - Chemin de Stevenson-2018-D8-28 by Andrew Priest, on Flickr

We are now continuing our descent of the Pic de Finiels having passed through the hamlet of Finiels, to enter an area of large granite boulders, known as chaos in French.

Day 8 of 12 – Le Bleymard to Le Pont de Montvert: Walking the Chemin de Stevenson (GR 70 Robert Louis Stevenson Trail) in the south of France.

Thanks John,

My iPad identifies it as Couroupita Guianensis, or a 'Cannonball Tree'. Supposed to be in the Brazil Nut family.
Guaranteed not carnivorous, although it sure looks like it could be.

Best regards,

Russ
Snap! We saw the same flower in the Cairns Botanical Gardens in 2017 and have always wondered what it was. Appreciate the elucidation.
