Help needed.
I've been fighting a long time with "reds". They always look oversaturated and don't get the details that show the blues, greens and yellows. This was already the case with prints from slides and has not changed for me in the digital times.
Is there any way to get them better? So far my attempts are modest, maybe because I'm still a newbie in PP.
This poppy is of a darker red than the wild ones, it was planted by the gardener of our local park. Yet too little detail.
Reds have always been problematic afaik. Found this rather old discussion over on photonet which may help.
Techniques to photograph red flowers.

Was wondering what techniques people were using to photograph red flowers with dslr's.
I find the Red channel to clip when using a grey card, or exposing off a neutral subject in the same light.
I will then expose again to save the red channel by adjusting my exposure...
