The first snowdrops have bloomed a few days ago. I saw them growing by the hundreds the week before and I wasn't sure how long they will keep me waiting.

Some of them are just coming out but most of them are still just a sea of green stems popping out of the dirt.

The early ones are quite the stunners, coming out in small groups.

This one might be my favourite of them because of the two leaves at the bottom.

It's pictures and opportunities like this where I appreciate my Tamy lens so much with its close up ability, I find a dedicated 1:1 macro overkill in trying to capture the entie flower and not just a small portion.

3 little ones coming out at about the same time, I need to find a morning or afternoon to spend with the snowdrops because they tent to not last very long and we've been having some freezing nights lately.

My backyard flowers ....

First is with a Minolta 50mm f/2. Love the rendering of Minolta lenses on Olympus.
