Lucky you, John. I am so looking forward to seeing spring flowers again, but we've got another 6+ weeks to go before the snow is gone.

John, I think that the Aborigines here have got it right. They reckon we have six seasons a year, not four (except in Melbourne, where we have all those during any particular day ... ).

Our huge Eucalyptus viminalis in our front yard drops about 10-20 Kgs of dead leaves almost every day of the year. It's about 80-100 feet tall. Most Australian plants shed leaves all year round, but particularly when they sense a period of extreme heat coming.
