Most insects do that. When I used a very thin water spray to add a bit of drama and the insects would clean it off their eyes AND the would pull their antenna through their jaws to clean the water droplets. It's very interesting to see. I do have a picture of that somewhere.View attachment 499178

This is the first time I've watched this action. This grasshopper raises it's arm above it's head and then wipes his eye off. I watched him go through the motion a few times. I probably should have switched over to video.
