Struggling to identify this bee. It was small, probably 5mm or 6mm long… can anyone help?

If you could catch it and give it a wash, we might have a chance :)

Got a new book this week 'A comprehensive guide to insects of Britain and Ireland' by Paul D. Brock.

I followed online advice and didn't get the very latest edition, since the 2019 version has more details etc. Super book, the pictures are pretty small but there are nearly 3000 of them.

It describes a few Furrow Bees which are the right shape, but also mentions a metallic green sheen on the nearest match, which would be hard to tell under all that pollen. Changed my mind about my "wasp" above too :)

That's fantastic, Rashid.

Do you have/use an accessory VF for your E-P5?
Thank you very much, John. Yes, I use the VF-4. I've always used a VF on all my PEN cameras over the years (cannot do without a VF, especially outside on a bright day). When I had the E-P1 I used a small slide viewer over the LCD as a VF: I removed the part that holds the slide and attached it to the camera with a rubber band :)
