Yes, pretty much - there are a couple of ridges and side valleys to the north of the city itself, leading west and separating a couple of villages and small towns (suburbs, really). This is above Kriens, looking south/south-east - the hill (or small mountain) is called "Sonnenberg" (yep, sun mountain - quite a strange name for a place mostly locked in the shadows of bigger mountains - its sunny side faces towards Kriens, though). What you see in the distance is the southern end of Lucerne to the left and Horw to the right - I posted images from there quite recently. All water you see is part of Lake Lucerne, btw. - it's quite a weirdly shaped lake with many arms or basins.
