It was difficult to get these young spiders sharp, little depth of field and a lot of wind, but there was no point in waiting..., fifteen minutes later they were all gone !

The Sony 200-600 as a closeup/macro? My first attempt, kind of fun.

Very happy to see honeybees in the garden. Planting the sunflowers was the best thing I ever did for them. I've seen more this year than in decades.

And the positive side effect is that the squash and other vegetables are being naturally pollinated at a record pace, I usually have to hand pollinate. Not this year!

A Black Swallowtail caterpillar decided on a brick of our house to create its chrysalis. Now we have to wait a week or so to see it emerge (I hope!). It seems as if it picked this spot to maximize its camouflage!

The lens was at near the closest focus without the matched extender, so this is about 1/2 life size. The aperture was f/8. This is an image stack of 4 images created using the StackReg and Extended Depth of Field plugins in Fiji/ImageJ2. The image is not cropped or otherwise processed.
