The truck, getting a bit closer.
The distance between the two shots can be calculated from the image time stamps. The truck would be doing exactly 100 kmh, as heavy vehicles are speed limited to this in Australia.

My friend is the person inspecting the track. He asked if I would like to join him as it was his turn to do the track inspection. Our track inspection vehicle is below. I was expecting something a bit more luxurious!

The inundated path along the shore once more ... of course, with a couple of people using it in spite of it being closed for safety reasons - and to preserve it ...

N.B. When I drove by a little later on my way home, there were in fact many more people (mostly adolescents) on the path. Not a good day for hoping for common sense ...
