With hindsight, we should have taken the ‘high road’ so to speak. The mention of a rocky creek was an understatement. It was more like jumping from one boulder to the next!
#Larapinta Trail 2005-28 – West to East: Standley Chasm to Jay Creek
Beautiful. 30 years ago I would have loved to hike down that and stay at Phantom Ranch. Now it makes my knees ache just to look at it. Oh, actually they just do that all the time now.
Dan, your knees will feel better after you see this postBeautiful. 30 years ago I would have loved to hike down that and stay at Phantom Ranch. Now it makes my knees ache just to look at it. Oh, actually they just do that all the time now.
Awesome! I wanted to do Km88 but my fitness level probably wasn't up to it. So when I saw they had the shorter (14km) day hike I jumped on it. That was about 9 years ago and yes -I needed pre-registration, which was checked on-trail, and a trail guide. The guide was telling me it was because of so many people wanting to do it now and too many hoons damaging things and/or people falling and needing rescue that they introduced that. It's always the few....@betamax RE: Camino Inka. Nice! did it years ago from Km88. Not regulated at all back then. No signs. No people. Had to ask directions along the way
