While taking pictures on the Huangpu River in Shanghai, this gentleman came up to me, very happy to see an American there in China also taking pictures. He didn't speak any English and I don't speak Chinese so it was a short conversation. He thought it was funny that his camera was so much bigger than mine. I let him play with the Leica a bit and then he wanted a picture of me so naturally I took one of him. A very nice encounter which is what I have experienced in China. Traveling the world you find that no matter where you are, people are people and for the most part friendly.

While eating my dinner the other night in Shanghai, this young boy came up to me and said "Welcome to China" ! He was with his parents who were very nice. The Chinese lady I mentioned in the "Photo of a photographer taking a photo" thread took the picture. You can see the couple at the next table were enjoying the encounter as well.

This young guy saw my camera on the subway ride back to the hotel and motioned for me to take his picture. After doing so, he ran over to his father, borrowed his dad's phone and came back to take a picture of me

The next day, I was out walking and a young man with a Nikon saw my camera and wanted a quick selfie of us with his phone. Yes, I stick out as the old caucasian guy with the camera 😂
