Oh, to be Young Again
by Andrew Priest, on Flickr

A young fellow hiker zoomed pass on the approach to Signal du Bougès, which at 1,421 is both the highest point on the ridge and our highest point for the day’s walking.

This cleverly carved wooden lizard - a gift from a friend who was a biologist who spent many years working with primates in Africa - used to live inside my house - but now it resides outside, in the garden. Today, a gray rainy day, it seemed more alive than ever - quietly poised, as lizards so often are... ready to move quickly, if or when necessary.

Purposefully imperfectly scanned with PhotoScan (by Google), no pp, just a crop.
