Back in lockdown with the inevitable shortage of bread in the supermarkets. Thankfully we still had plenty of flour in the cupboard from the last lockdown.
 
For years, the process of washing laundry - in a washing machine - and then transferring it to a dryer, which dries the wet-but-clean clothing - has occasionally created its fair share of tiny mysteries. Some of them are of the irritatingly mundane variety - losing one of a pair of socks which I was certain I had washed (and dried!) together. But this morning's mystery is still without a solution: in the dryer, I discovered a tiny clip-on (or squeeze-on) metal Skull & Crossbones...

Was it attached to a shirt? Was it something I had picked up and stuck into a pocket and then forgotten about? Or has a race of tiny miniature Pirates left their metallic calling cards as a warning that they intend future pillages and raids, on my metaphorical coastlines? (To be continued...)
