This ancient rusted and dented International truck sits outside of Ashland, Oregon.
Something about the old body style incorporating round headlights on the fenders...always makes me think of two staring eyes. In the middle of a defiant mechanical face.
Even battered and rusting, there's still a certain elegant, organic flow to the metal lines of its flanks.
Everything about it has seen better days. I'm reminded of innumerable photos of old veterans of wars, covered with multiple scars, soaking in the rays of the sunshine years after their last battles.
And like knights of old, you always bear your coat of arms, or your 'standard' or your 'device', proudly in front of you, so it can be seen and recognized by friend and foe alike.
