I think it's possible that 1955 - the year of manufacture of the automobile commemorated by my tiny metal die-cast 55 V.W. 'Bug' - may also have been the year of manufacture of the old radio that appears in this photograph, as well. Then again, it's also possible the radio may actually have predated the VW by a few years...

Renault Express by Andrew Priest, on Flickr

Having never seen such a van, this Renault Express van from the mid-1990s (?) caught my attention. It was spotted in St Germain de Calberte.

Chemin de Stevenson-2018-D11-19: Day 11 of 12 – Gare de Cassagnas to St Germain de Calberte: Walking the Chemin de Stevenson (#GR70 Robert Louis Stevenson Trail) in the south of France.
It was a mid 80s til late 90s car, but given the minimal bumpers I'd say this one's early 90s.

Some shots of the 2011, 2012 and 2013 editions of the Le Mans 24 hours. I visited 9 times with my dad, but if I still have some shots from other years, they'll be on an external harddrive somewhere. Same goes for the originals of these shots here, unfortunately as you can see I was still overprocessing some of my shots back then. All taken with small sensor cameras; Samsung WB5500, Panasonic FZ200 and Samsung E-X1.

Robertson Racing Ford GT, came 3rd in class in 2011. A real feelgood story, husband and wife team developed the car themselves from a roadcar and raced it to the podium along with 1 professional driver.

2013 was a sad one. Danish driver Alan Simonsen died from injuries sustained in a crash one corner away from where my dad and I were. Guardrail right up against the massive trees on the outside of a fast corner, without any energy absorption inbetween... By 2013 that was just inexcusable. Audi won (again), but fellow Dane Tom Kristensen, one of the winning drivers, had just lost a compatriot and friend. Sad podium it was...

Not sure that this counts as a car shot but hey, it took a lot of tries to get it right so here goes!

2011 was the last time out for the open-topped LMP1's. Now, in '22, LMP's are gone altogether, replaced by something much closer to spec racing with different bodies. Good for visuals, sad for car and technology lovers.
