Citroen DS at Coober Pedy
by Pete Tachauer, on Flickr

This is a Citroen DS. I saw it quietly rotting away in a yard at the Opal mining town of Coober Pedy in Australia. Manufactured between the mid 1950's til the 1970's; the first production car with disc brakes and had advanced hydropneumatic self levelling suspension (it could literally drive on 3 wheels in case of puncture. When introduced at the Paris Motor Show in October 1955 Citroen took 80,000 deposits for the car. A record unbeaten until 2016 when 180,000 deposits were taken for the Tesla 3!
