Getting ready for my US SW yearly trip. Met this guy a couple of years ago, claimed he was a percussionist in a symphony. Southern Pacific Rattlesnake, some in selected areas have a much more neurotoxic venom, take pictures don't touch- notice how relaxed this snake is. Leroy Brown, toughest snake in the whole damn town

Out in the kayak with a first time combo; the M. Zuiko 300mm f4 with the 2X T.C. Trying to locate this turtle during the rock & roll of water turned up by 15 MPH winds was fun (not)... I'm going to try some B.I.F. later in the week.

Driving in to one of my favorite bird haunts last evening, I noticed this snapping turtle laying eggs near the roadside. Sadly, these guys decimate the baby duck, swan and geese hatch in the area every year.

A gopher snake trying to look oh-so-scary. It even flattened its head to make it look more like a rattlesnake.
