Finally got to he Bosque the other day with my Pen F and the 14-150 f4, not the greatest lens in the world, but versatile and not bad by any stretch. Saw this guy happily exploring a flower bed.

I was waiting for him when he appeared about 50 feet in front of me. A minute earlier he was being chased by a larger one in the canal, so I knew he would be in a hurry to get to the other side.

I'd guess this guy to be somewhere between 100 and 150 pounds. That's a good size tree he's lounging on tonight. Heck, he may have chopped it down himself 80 years ago.
Not exactly a great picture but about a half a second before I shot this you probably would not have noticed that there was an alligator here. If you visit Florida or anywhere with alligators or crocodiles please be careful near water.

My wife tore out the flowers that were in the flower box this morning since they didn't have any flowers on them, so the lizards are exploring the rest of the yard a little more boldly.

It was super-quiet out on the watershed today, so I spent some time with this lonely cold-blooded creature that had the rotted log all to itself.... Shot with my oldest 1D body (1D Mark III) that has zero issues, other than noise, which DxO Pure RAW cleans up nicely.
Regards,
Edd

Out with a friend, peering at wildflowers, I noticed the most handsomely-patterned dragon lizard I've ever seen in the wild. It froze and tolerated our advances, until it suddenly raced away to safety, leaving us shrieking in the distance!
It's a Jacky Dragon, one of quite a few dragon lizard species in southern Australia.
