Despite the title, I opened this thread with a view over the lake Näsijärvi.

I'm curious: are all these interesting places you share within walking or bike riding distance, or do you have to drive to them?
Today, I had to drive - though I could ride to either place, but it'd take the better part of a day in both cases, especially in this kind of wind. And the longer one, though iconic, is *not* a pleasant ride - always close to busy roads. I visited two places today - one was Flüelen, the ground zero of Föhn (the place where this famous katabatic wind always blows hardest) and Zug, the town I lived in during highschool and most of my studies in Zürich (I went to live in Zürich towards the end). Zug's easy to reach by bike, but Flüelen is some 50km away from home (30 miles) - doable, but it'd mean riding for two to three hours each time, and there'd be no way of visiting both places in one day.
