Indeed, John but we don't have those over here.
The canals here are at least as wide as the rivers used for water transport and are used by the same class of boats.

Well hello! What have we here? As I opened the curtains, I saw this crossing my view. It's a French warship - what it is doing here?

According to Wikipedia:

Mistral (L9013) is an amphibious assault ship, a type of helicopter carrier, of the French Navy. She is the fourth vessel to bear the name, and is the lead ship of the Mistral-class amphibious assault ships.
