? du Le Pe´chay, Alt 1128m - Chemin de Stevenson-2018-D2-27
by Andrew Priest, on Flickr

Mademoiselle Anne not to impressed at having her photograph taken late in the day. We had passed through Bargettes and were four kilometres from our destination when we paused for a moment at the intersection of the GR 700 and GR 70 trails and the road from Costaros.

I am not sure of the name of this locality (it is not shown on my maps with name) but it is at the base of La Gardine which at 1188 metres is one of three high points nearby. In fact, we walk past the second high point, Pauilles with a kilometre or two.

Maar du Pe´chay, Alt 1133m - Chemin de Stevenson-2018-D2-29
by Andrew Priest, on Flickr

This sign at Maar du Pe´chay marks another crossroad on our slow climb to Preyssac and then on to our destination for the day, Le Bouchet-Saint-Nicolas. Our accommodation at Le Bouchet-Saint-Nicolas got a little worried about us as we didn't arrive till after 7:00 PM. They thought we had got lost!

L'Etoile Maison d'hotes - La Bastide-Puylaurent
by Andrew Priest, on Flickr

The L'Etoile Maison d'hotes was our accommodation for the night in La Bastide-Puylaurent. The building is a former resort hotel and whilst not as grand today still very much echoes its past.

We had a most enjoyable stay here, with the owner Philippe sponsoring trainees from other European countries we were entertained by a young Russian girl who could both sing and play the piano magnificently. A most memorable evening indeed.

As is the way in such accommodation, meals are a group experience which just adds to the whole ambience, more so when you can speak French 😊
