Thanks to the above I now know that "Sglodion a Physgod" is fish and chips in Welsh (actually, chips and fish).

I must try to remember this as I'm finding "sglodion" rather satisfying to say out loud.

Sglodion is a lovely word isn't it? Although a really nice phrase would be 'science is very interesting to pupils' - mae gwyddoniaeth yn ddiddorol iawn i ddisgyblion.

Facsimile of an advertisement appearing in the New Zealand West Coast Times of April 1884. It is on display at Shantytown, a heritage village near Greymouth in the South Island. The village recreates a 19th century pioneer village, being inspired by the gold rush of the 1860s. An interesting place to visit. Nice vintage train ride in the bush and activities such as gold panning.
