Haumoana white bait stand sign. If you enjoy whitebait, which have a limited season in NZ, you can, in some areas pay for a "stand", which means if someone else is there, and you arrive, that they have to move on. Most people who I know, who enjoy whitebaiting, take pot luck, and take up a stand wherever. That was in the Wairarapa , and the rules may have been different there.

Whoa .... I live in the Cape and we have crime issues including kidnapping problems.
This is a weird sign to see! "Help us protect Cape Kidnappers" :oops:

This is in NZ, and cape Kidnappers was named by Captain Cook on one of his trips, a story about someone being actually kidnapped. This whole coastal area is severely threatened by erosion, and the road to the camp has been partially washed out at times. Hence the "save Cape Kidnappers"
