The moon last night, exceptionally bright. The conditions were so amazing because we had very fluffy clouds and the moon would brighten them up so we'll but I didn't have my f 1.2 lenses with me and by the time I got home most of the clouds dispersed. The moon was so bright that it turned the space around it from black to blue to the visible eye. To the camera it is still black when exposed for the moon.

Last nights Total Lunar Eclipse was a ton of fun to shoot. I stayed up way past when I usually go to bed, but some of these turned out alright.

EDIT: Reattached photos, the reds were showing light orange from an export issue with DxO that I have now corrected.

I stayed up late last night for the lunar eclipse. The forecast initially called for cloudy skies, then it changed to just mostly cloudy which it basically was. There was always a thin layer but lots of thick, high clouds a good part of the 2 and a half hours I was out there. I did manage to get some nice images but I couldn't get the end, the clouds completely covered the sky. Oh well, it was 2:30am so I wasn't complaining about calling it a night. I have a lot to go through but here are a few.

This first one was earlier when the clouds were pretty sparse and way before the eclipse began.

You can see some glow from the thin clouds.

I was taking shots when I could see a thinner layer crossing, the clouds kept me engaged, trying to get what I could.

This one was taken when the clouds were pretty thick but that made for a nice image IMHO

😄 You were posting while I was posting! When I pulled up this thread I was surprised no one else had posted an image. I obviously slept in this morning and just started looking at mine but I have to get moving, the day is already half over.

Nice images, it looks like you had clearer skies than me.

That's hilarious, I was looking for a moon thread and was surprised to not see any from last night yet. These are my quick look and edit this morning right after getting out of bed. I was up way too late for my normal liking but it was worth it. We had some clouds, patchy and we got really lucky here, just an hour west was a storm coming across the mountains.

Great shots Bruce! Why do my photos come out orange when I upload them here, but on my PC the moon is red, I don't understand but it may be time to get a Smugmug page or something.

Thanks!

That is strange about the colors. Mine look the same in both places. I uploaded directly from my computer.

One test Moon shot here, it's the same shot I uploaded before, slightly edited, and exported with a different color format, hoping it'll be right. I only noticed these differences when I started using DXO instead of Lightroom. I think my issue is resolved, it was a DXO specific color output that was changing only when I upload photos to the forum.
