Next round. The 100 foot tall Sweetgum over my right shoulder was laughing at me as I took the photo. Pretty sure I heard the giant twin Red Oak towering over the back yard below the house joining in the mockery. Both species - along with American Beech - are known for holding onto their leaves long after other trees have shed their load, even past New Year's Day.
