Well it's 12.10am here down under and this picture was taken around 15 seconds past midnight, so it definitely qualifies. Same as yesterday's one only it's dark and I'm on to a new candle, though yesterday's one still hasn't been thrown away yet. Wow, I don't have to worry about SIJ for at least the next 36 hours now.

This is my Golden Shower tree (featured in previous SiJs and a WiiW).

It is unusual in that it is semi-deciduous but at the start of summer down under. It will lose half or more of its leaves then produce masses of pendulous golden flowers and after that new leaves and shoots.

It typically produces its first blossoms by Christmas day. I will revisit it at about Day 30.

Beautiful picture, but I'd have to move. My old legs and heart, just would not be able to do it!
By the way, I just realized the meaning of your email. I didn't have to climb those stairs to get to the parking lot. I was driving by them on my way to the hill to get me up there. It was just a striking scene and I stopped the car (and backed up a bit) to get the picture. Those stairs would have been a death trap this morning, covered with snow and ice.
