It's been cold and gray, raining and snowing, all week in Oregon. The kind of weather where one feels like one is living in a monochrome world of grays and blacks with only a few whites here and there. At a certain point, one might even fantasize about being in a warm, sunny place... about riding a camel across the waves of rippling sand. Fortunately there is a place where such fantasies can come to life - inside the book Imagining Wes Anderson - but before letting oneself slip into the photograph, it's good to put on a cap, to shade your eyes from the desert sun---

Wait! what's that sound...? is it a dog, running alongside my camel, barking?
Spent a bit of time working to do PP on this image taken this rainy foggy day. Then decided not to bother. As is, apart from just a switch from colour to B&W, although honestly that wouldn't have made much difference to how it was when the shot was taken.

No theme today, just a nice tree. For a change I edited the raw file. I chose the "Modern 7" profile in Lightroom and hit Auto on the tone section. I usually then tweak a bit more but this seemed to do what I wanted.

Cleavehouse Barn
This barn is a short distance from my cottage, it's not dissimilar in construction but is sadly falling into decay with a collapsing wall and roof. It's deprived a barn owl of a nesting site but all may not be lost, perhaps that can be explained before the month is out. Note also within this image is the subject of yesterday's image.

Gloomy grey late winter afternoon. This abandoned house is one of my "usual subjects" but it seemed even more cold and lonely today than that usual. A light sepia tone seemed appropriate as a result.
