My subject for Day 15 is the vintage pickup truck that sits outside a local Creamery (cheese-making establishment) - and since I'm fond of old trucks, I wound up taking an entire series of shots of it. Here are the rest of them - in the order taken---

I'm not certain of the significance of the number 8, but I was quite taken by the cow-jumping-over-the-moon ---

The design of the hood ornament seems either Art Deco or Space Age or maybe both---

The proximity of the metallic Ram with the white Cow kind of gets to me---

And, okay, the head-on shot from in front appeals to me--

And the series wouldn't be complete without a close-up of the headlight which seemed like a big, staring Cyclopean eye---

Cool old vehicle Miguel. For some reason that hood ornament reminds me the creature from the Alien movie. The streamlined shape might represent a Ram. But I can’t help but think of HR Giger. Cool photos!

Thank you, Don! I have a feeling it may have reminded me of something, as well - but I can't say what, exactly - though I really like your H.R. Giger - Alien reference!

One more alternative photo for Day 16, though technically it's not an 'outtake' as I am using my Pen F, with a PanaLeica 15mm for all my Single-in-January photos this month - but when I was skiing, I also had my tiny little Ricoh GRii in my pocket - and at one point, later in the afternoon, I found myself, again, overlooking the same view toward the South - and toward California - that I had taken, earlier in the morning, with the Pen F.

The little GRii renders it differently - and also, it's just slightly wider (a 28mm vs a 30mm FOV) - but more importantly, this particular higher-up-the-mountain vantage point allowed me to see much more of the landscape - including the looming snow-and-cloud-capped peak of Mt. Shasta, over to the right--

I've seen this view, more or less, many, many times....and it always seems to change.

My Day 17 alternative-slash-outtake is, simply, a monochrome version of the color photo I posted of my long-in-the-tooth Mac Powerbook - which, I realized, is now 21 years old!

It was a toss-up deciding which image to post 'officially' today - in some ways, I like the monochrome better - but in the color version, one gets a stronger sense of the oh-so-weird-but-nonetheless-cool screensaver art (an original illustration by a close friend of mine, a Dutch film director who is also an illustrator) and its colors.

Detail shot of the egg crate from today's post. While my father pasted away when I was 3 I still spent a good about of time with my uncles around the farm.

While the name and image might seem silly today this was back in the mid to late 1950s. In the US anyway Adventures of Superman with George Reeves was on the air from 1952-1958. While not the Marvel Universe of today, it was still popular.
