This old broken anvil, in my front yard, could tell some "hot" stories. It was used to sledge hammer sharpen red hot "pounder" oil well drilling bits. I pounded a few, when I was a young man, alongside my father-in-law. Build a wood fire, around the cutting edge, until it is red, and quickly pop it on the anvil and work it with the big hammer!

They say variety is the spice of life.
In my case, my morning's variety consisted of using the French Press pot instead of drip or an espresso machine.

But in the end, caffeine is a fine common denominator

Isnt it though! I’ve become a full-time drip coffee person. I’ve recently discovered that my chosen instant gives me gastritis, and I don’t like most others. I don’t much like espresso because its too strong, and I like a flat white... that is, basically, black coffee with a dollop of cream (real cream, not a creamer). I think this is giving me the shot for today (Friday)
