Single In Single in July (SiJy) 2022 - day 18

Amazing how much time I spent doing "stuff" today, and didn't actually accomplish much at all. Spent all morning on the phone dealing with medical insurance and related "stuff". Time for a quick lunch and a shower, then off the the hospital for another of those pesky specialist visits. Doc was running late, got out after normal office hours. Then went to get some food and back to the apartments. Got almost soaked walking from parking to the hut. Too bad I didn't have time for photos as the storm clouds would have looked awesome. Oh well.

Quick tabletop of a small volcanic ash sculpture I picked up after the Mount St Helens eruption. Two wolves by the pale moon LED light.

I'll be playing catch up again on everyone's posts. I should have time tomorrow to go out for some photos, unless Wednesday's scheduled delivery shifts a day early.

I took a couple half-a.. photo's and decided I should at least give it 3/5ths a.. . This is the first time for entering a committed photo event and I think the term Challenge is apt.

Agreed on the challenge aspect, and I'm finding the daily aspect tough at times. I do try to get the best image that I can, but tell myself that on some days just getting the camera in hand and some images is a win... I recently read a lament on a band fan page (Clutch) that the new stuff wasn't great... a musician replied asking if he realized how difficult it is to put out consistently great music over a course of years.... it's kind of like that with photography too I think.

I like this image a lot, Fred (I like the light, the shadows, the textures, the forms, the darkness...pretty much everything) and I'm also totally intrigued... What exactly is it a photograph of?
Thank you! It’s just lumps of rock salt* with a lamp in the middle. I just wanted to show texture and form; light and dark.

*My better half informs me it’s pink Himalayan salt. Apparently it has some kind of magical properties or something…
