Single In Single in November (SiN) 2024 - announcement

Not to be a PITA, but I'm going to need to change my lens from the 23, to the XF 27mm R WR. Still using an X-T5 body. Sorry for the change.
Hi Matt, If you are changing @ Robmas4229 lens details please could you update the name on my camera details as Leica is spelt wrong.

Thank you very and sorry to be a PITA about a minor detail.

Dave
No problem at all, and thanks for the heads-up, too - I like to get things right.

The Single in November 2024 (SiN 24) challenge is coming up!

What it's all about:
  • One camera!*
  • One lens!*
  • One month!
  • One image per day!
*Or one compact camera, of course!

The key rules and considerations:
  • Take at least one image per day during one month - and post (only!) one image to each day's thread. It's desirable to post the image on the very day it was taken to get into the groove and keep up the flow.
  • Specify the gear you're going to use for the whole challenge beforehand - and stick with it if at all possible. You may even try to shoot your chosen setup exclusively for the whole month - however, you should only try this if you're sure you can make it.
  • Personal restrictions and additional demands you set up for yourself may help boost your creativity. A word to the wise, though: Don't put too much pressure on yourself - it'll probably hurt rather than help.
  • Interact with other participants, talk about the images you take and see as well as your own experiences during the challenge - in short, let's talk, have fun together and support each other.
There will be daily treads, an outtakes thread every eight days and a discussion thread for exchange and support.

For those concerned: We're carrying on with the "Today" challenge as usual.

We're keeping up our seven-month cycle for the "Single in" challenges. For more on that, see this post. The next "Single in" will be in June 2025.

Your host,
Matt

Hi. I will participate with my Fujifilm XF10

I'm in with the Sony A7CR + ??

I am currently shooting the OctoberFest over on the Nikon Cafe with the Sigma 90 DG DN B&W (so far, let's see if I can make it through the whole month B&W). It will likely be either the Tamron 50-300mm or the Sony 20mm. I am leaning toward the 20mm with the 90mm now and the 70-200 in the challenge before.
I'll use the 20mm.

I have such a hard time deciding between comfort (sigma 45mm) or convenience (lumix 28-200).
Feel free to add some thoughts about it, I am having serious decision fatigue here.

To me a zoom will be easier than a prime so go for the 45mm (says the hypocrite who's picked a zoom for the challenge :p - it is manual though, no AF).

+1 for the 45mm - it's a lovely lens, very versatile, but it'll have you work a bit more for (some) images than a 28-200mm; from the point of view of "challenge", it's definitely the more interesting pick.

In fact, the "zoom" thing is one of the main aspects why I'm dithering myself - it's not that the Canon IXUS 220 HS is an old camera with limitations, but mainly, it's designed for convenience, and that's counter-intuitive regarding the challenge.

Once again I must apologize for changing up my gear again. I had forgotten that some of the shots I intend to take are going to be in low light, and I will likely need a closer focusing distance.

So one last change request from me, I promise.
Going back to the X-T5 with the XF 23mm f/1.4 R LM WR.

Thanks in advance for your patience and understanding.

So I was gifted a campsnap camera. A screenfree fully automatic childrens camera and that sounds really like a challenge of the fun kind. I have no idea how this behaves or anything but just that sounds so freeing in a way and like a proper challenge for getting the story into a picture.
So sorry for my indecission this time around. Can you change my gear to the campsnap, Matt @MoonMind . Thank you. Will stay with this and not do any more thinking about it.
