SiN day 1 outtakes - a couple more views of the crane working in downtown Red Deer. This is really in my "wheelhouse" as anything big and mechanical gets me interested straight away. I believe this will occupy the street until the end of November so there could be more pictures over the month.

Two more shots from another windowsill in the house I was visiting this morning. I'm fascinated by what people (including myself) choose to put in or on or around their window-sills.
A squirrel perched inside an intellectual coffee-cup--

And a definitely surreal flowerpot--

But the reclining puppet (my official entry today) seemed a more interesting image to me.
If you think it's a bit silly to try and photograph a squirrel with a manual lens your unfamiliar with then as the below image shows, this would be a correct assumption, at least as far as I'm concerned. I can zone focus on a rangefinder and a prime no problem, but am not nearly as proficient with this equipment and quick focusing through the EVF was not helpful in this sceanrio. Happy enough with the colours though!

Day 1 outtakes. We had a frosty morning today, and I was seeking subjects at a local prairie on the edge of town. The first of these is similar to my posted image - just framing I didn't like as well. The second is just some frost-edged leaves under foot. I didn't use a tripod for this, and I had this little 50mm f/2 TTA lens set at f/5.6. The corners seem to be quite bad at this focus distance (perhaps .5m) at f/5.6. I'm going to need to explore this aspect of this little thing more closely in the coming days.
