Here in southern Oregon cold autumn weather is grayer and colder than before, with freezing temperatures right around the corner. But still not too cold for a bicycle ride around town. And, today, I happened upon a Halloween-decorated suburban front yard with a variation from the traditional pumpkins, ghouls and skeletons: this yard features Dracula himself, lying in an impromptu coffin of earth (which was actually, in a previous life, a raised vegetable bed).
