Single In Single in September (SiS) 2023 - announcement

I'm not sure yet but I'm leaning toward using the Fuji GFX 50R with an adapted Olympus 85mm f2.
I'm definitely going with the 85 f2. I remember buying it used back in the early 80's. I had switched from a Minolta system to Olympus because of the OM4. I had already gotten (used, of course) copies of the 24/2.8 and 35/2.8. I got a new mount for my Tamron 90/2.5 macro. And finally the 85/2. And I thought "My life is now complete. I'm done buying camera gear."

It's not the last time I've been wrong.

No theme for me this go-around. Last time was thematic and SOOC jpgs. This time, I'll be shooting whatever moves me or is available for the day. I may try some new things, maybe not. I might use a SOOC jpg, might run the image through a gauntlet of post processing. Might be mostly indoor shots, time will tell.

The challenge for me this month will be simply getting an image each day. edit - text removed, it was only an explanation.

No problem. The rampant indecision is the fun part of the pre-challenge period. I think this is the most fun of all the challenges because we’re only competing with ourselves while creating an incentive to try something different.
Steve you are so right about that. This is the one lens that I never use and it was my last choise today. We will see how this goes.

[Drags feet] I am in.

I have no idea what I am going to point the camera at, but it will be a Fuji X-T3 and the attached lens will be my unloved 7Artisans 25/f1.2 mkII. I am hoping that this will give the two of us a chance for some quality time together so I can get to know the lens better and learn its strengths and weaknesses (which is, of course, the whole point of this exercise).

I am pretty much house bound on weekdays due to working from home but I hope to be out and about at weekends (I should certainly get to Sheffield and Lincoln for university open day visits this week) and I have a work day trip to London one day too. A theme might develop as the month passes, or it might just end up as a random collection of black and white pictures.

Is it too late to get in? I missed the Single in February due to a broken shoulder. Couldn't hold a camera at the time. I'd be shooting with an Olympus EM-5 III and an adapted OM mount Cosina 28mm f2.8.

I want to try this for the motivation to get a good image every day. I've been in the doldrums for a while now and I'm hoping this would get me going again.

Why was I thinking it was going to be October? :hmmm: Still trying to get my head straight from vacation I guess.

E-P7 + O9-18.

I picked up the O9-18 to go with my old E-M1.2, which my son was going to take on the family trip to Greece. But he ended up having a wrist issue and couldn't use a traditional camera, so he just used his phone. I plan on selling the E-M1.2, but I figure I would keep the O9-18 to go with the E-P7.

Well this post woke me up. I have the 7artisans 25mm manual focus that I can use with any of my Fuji bodies.
I believe practical good sense needs to rule and although I love the heavier and bigger combo of the Nikon with adaptor and Zeiss 35mm, it's not going to be a sensible every day carry for a whole month - Cape Town being what it is.
So I may well switch out to a Fuji with the 7a 25 or ever the 7a 55, which I very seldom use. I shall notify the powers that be once I stop dithering :D We have construction work at our home at the moment with everything upside down, so that's my excuse...

In for my third time....Looking forward to learning a few (more) things. And of course, feeling good when it's over...

Going with the Pany 9mm f/1.7....Had this lens for a few months, and still haven't clicked with it.
And for the camera, I am dusting off my old GX7, which has been largely untouched since I bought my GX8 back in '17.
