Single In Single in September (SiS) 2023 - day 11

Time for a scenic shot. - Taken from Wynnum, looking across Moreton Bay and Green Island towards the north of North Stradbroke Island and the south of Moreton Island. (SOOC)

Monday is rubbish bin collection day here. The red-topped bins are for general household waste, while the green top bins (garden waste) and yellow top bins (recyclables) are collected on alternate Mondays.

After visiting Highgate Cemetery last month, I said on this forum on the Cemetery Image Thread that it would be a while before I went to another one. But needs must; this is SIS, one needs continuous subject matter to fufull it, the local cemetery is just down the road and despite the forecast stating cloud all day, it was actually sunny this morning giving me the light which this camera is sorely dependent on. So I quickly headed in and out fulfilling today's obligations for this and the Outtakes thread. Day 11 done, onto Day 12, eh.

The in-laws are visiting for a couple days to check out the new house, so photo opportunities are a bit limited.
This is a shot from the basement. It's a detail of the plumbing for the new well ($$$$) we just had drilled.
Found the contrast setting for B&W JPGs on the Nikon. This is +2
More infrastructure photos tomorrow, most likely.

Really enjoying this camera lens combo you've got going for this challenge.

Gorgeous tones in this!

SIS Day 11 Storage Silos.

Sue had an eye appointment this morning so I was the nominated driver. A couple of units down from the eye doctor there is usually a Ferrari or something parked up but as luck would have it it was not there today. On the way down I saw these storage silos outside one of the oilfield companies and I thought it would make a good picture if the sports car was not there. So here you go ... storage silos for day 11.

Yeah, the 35/1.8 DX is actually a really a nice lens. I really need to keep my D7100 just to keep using it. His shots have been a really good reminder why.

Thanks. can’t go wrong with a 50mm equivalent. With my skill level I need all the help I can get. I do dig the CCD tones.
The big surprise for me was the chromatic aberration. I had always heard about it, but shooting modern cameras I considered it something of a historical curiosity. Not so much anymore.
