Last night an interstitial lung disease from which I have been suffering the past 5 years or so kicked in again. I didn't manage to get much sleep until about 3:30am. When I woke up, I was still feeling tired and didn't really feel inclined to do anything. So I sat back, feeling sorry for myself, and binge watched replays of the previous day's Rugby Word Cup games and also the Singapore F1 GP Qualifying. It is fairly warm here, but not warm enough to switch on the air conditioning and so I had the ceiling fan on.
Looking up at the ceiling fan, I started to wonder what shutter speed I should use to photograph so that it was clear the blades were turning, but were still individually recognisable. After many different speeds, I chose this one: (SOOC)

Meeeeeat! Alright, just a slab of beef but a prime cut, de-boned, de-fatted a little bit and ready to be roasted and devoured later today. If you've been brought up eating an animal "head to tail" (a hipster way of saying offal), then cuts like this are appreciated even more so. First time using flash with this camera too - weather outside is awful.

Driving home this morning I passed by an old spring house. This was a water point that, during the early settling of our area (early by northern Wisconsin standards, a blink of an eye by Euro standards ) was rather important. Then this building was built in 1923. It was cleaned up a few years back and the sign placed on it warning people that, unfortunately, you can no longer safely drink here.
Beckey in this case was the family name.
It is maintained as a historical site.

"There is activity at the perimeter, Sir"
The boys did a 40K skirmish today, so the topic somewhat gave itself. Next time around, I think I will have some sort of neutral background to get rid of the fuzz that is the interior. But hey-ho, first time.
First click of the shutter this morning. This shot fell into my lap as I was heading into town to work another opportunity.
That opportunity isn't going anywhere, so I can go back another day. This, not so much. It would seem ungrateful not to use it.

I was out and about for several hours today and took lots of pictures, but with the 'wrong' camera for SIS
So here's something from in our house : a painting our daughter made in 2009 when she was still in school

Working days for me are starting to get ever more challenging. It's dark when I drive to work and it's dark again when I get back home.

I know I've blamed the Sony IBIS for being useless. Maybe I've been a bit too harsh. After all, I was handholding the camera and had the dog yanking on the leash on the other hand when I took this.
