Took the long way home after dropping Son #2 at his boarding school this evening.

Ran the E-PL3 with the VF-2, took it off auto ISO which probably helped a bit on the mushiness. I had it capped at 1600 and much of the earlier shots has been at 1600 which probably explains a few things, all of the shots this evening was with a Polarizer mounted, most of them at ISO400.

The 17mm is still soft(ish), but I will see how it fares. If I dont feel that I manage to harness it in a few days, I am thinking of switching it up with one of the small Lumixes, either the 14, the PL15 or the 20mm. Most likely one of the two latter. It is a bit frustrating shooting the 17mm.

This one has been through a couple of the Topaz suite programs, Denoise and Sharpen, I find the Photo AI to behave a bit odd lately so looking forward towards the Version 2 release in early September.

Day 3
More than half the day passed by and zero opportunities to take any pictures, much less pick up a camera.
So I opened a small notebook and wrote down an impromptu mantra.
Looking at it, and the pen I used to write it, I realized I had my photo.

This was taken at f/2.8; my outtake for today was taken at f/5.6. I went back and forth between them but for reasons I don't understand, I liked this one better.

Apologizes for my content I am dealing with a lot of family issues so am basically spending as little time as possible with my photography but will trudge on. Hopefully things will improve soon.

No apologies necessary, Dan. And they are lovely flowers, too. But take care of yourself and your family first and foremost... the photos will come if and when they are ready, so no worries.

I like this one, too, Miguel. The focus on the pen with the slightly OOF writing almost makes it dream- or thought-like. I like that the focus brings out the cool texture of your writing surface, as well.

This is a quick shot at the farmers market this morning. I’m trying to learn what to expect from this lens on this camera. It covers the larger sensor surprisingly well and the image holds together very well into the corners even wide open.

Edited to add: I usually edit my images. Usually from the raw file although with this camera sometimes I just tweak the jpeg. This is just a resized jpeg straight from the camera. For Fuji users, it’s Classic Chrome, -2 highlights and +1 saturation are the only in camera adjustments.

They say that one of the unwritten laws of the Seattle area is that anywhere you are, within a few blocks you'll have a teriyaki place that makes really tasty food. I don't know if it's true everywhere, but, sure enough, a mere three to four minute walk from the apartment, this hole in the wall place exists, and their chicken is exceptionally tasty. Reversal film profile.
