One outtake for today:

And a couple for yesterday, but I couldn't be bothered to post them then. Too tired after 13h at the office. Maybe later.

Out shooting two different set-up today, the conclusion shooting the PL 15 and the Oly 17mm side by side, is that the Oly is not properly focusing at least half of the time, it is not off by much, but enough that it is not to be trusted and making a mess of the pictures taken with it.

A decent copy would be very suitable as a GPP lens, but unfortunately my copy is probably best binned. I also got two "check lens" error messages with it today, so I cant but wonder if it has some sort of issues similar to the EZ and the 9-18. I will go over the contacts with some rubbing alcohol to see if that may help, not to sure what more I can do at the current time, it is not worth repairing, even if it would be possible.

Day 4 Outtakes
Two more angles of the old pickup truck that was my subject today. Both of them taken further away from the pickup, thus giving a wider perspective (but with the truck still partially 'cropped' in my framing)--

And an even wider one--

Interestingly, I shot the widest one first, then moved in closer, and closer still, for the others. And the last one I took - which was also the closest to the subject - was my hands-down favorite. Hmmmm...

Well, it may just be me, but I like this alternate outtake a bit more than your entry (Treebeard) today. There's something about this image that just...'speaks to me' more. Not quite sure why, but I really like it, Don.
Miguel,
I agree with you. I had already taken and posted the Treebeard photo when I ventured out to find my daily photo. I was a bit shocked discovering how much of the lake had disappeared. Then I noticed these two walking out in the area that used to be underwater. But too late to change my SIS day 4.

Today has been my wife's birthday, so I tried to make the day about her. But the temp here was nearly 100F/37C, so other than going out to lunch to a restaurant she wanted to visit (which is decidedly not a 105mm [my SiS lens] venue!), we didn't really leave the house until evening. As it was getting toward dusk I realized I needed a safety shot, so I quickly made this one as some evening light filtered in through the window nearest the piano. Cliché, boring, but all I had by 7pm. Luckily, we did go out just a short while later, and I made my main-thread photo for today.

Meeting the neighbour's dog for the first time. We found her in the boot of our car while we were packing up to go out for the day. I think she was checking we hadn't stole any sheep.

She was super friendly.

Great little cabin. Sad to be moving on tomorrow.

I've really enjoyed the shots so far, y'all enjoying the trip?

Be careful. Under American Law, the dog can claim property if she's cute enough.

Today's outtakes. The acorn is still too green and lady Amanita looked better from a different perspective. Still, some ideas gathered I might use later on in the challenge.

Also, I've been struggling to find time for photography. Either I'm at work or stuck home with the kids. So today I concocted this cunning plan. I asked our 4-yo if we should go outside and take some pictures of autumn. Told him that he could bring his own camera - his mom has gifted him an old Panasonic compact from aeons ago - and of course the plan was met with fanfare:

In the end, everyone was happy.
