Day 17 Outtakes from a walk around the lake.

The pano is a 7 picture stitch. Fall is certainly here in Alberta with many of the trees changing colour and loosing their leaves.

Day 17 - Outtakes

More from the weekly Balkan music (and dance!) get-together...
Here is my friend Olaf, whose accordion was the subject of my official entry today

There was a violinist as well, and she is a fine fiddler--

And of course, with all the music, there is non-stop dancing as well...

It was hard to make up my mind.

I like them all, David... but I think I like the last one the best - the one in which you have zoomed in to a close-up... because it makes me the hungriest!
I did my best not to move the camera between shots, that last one would have been a little better if the syrup had been more visible. The real Vermont Maple Syrup is sooo tasty. 😋

That was probably a little mean of me, wasn't it?:D

Fresh before bottling is pretty dang good. So is maple syrup on snow. And maple taffy. And maple butter. And maple sugar.

I might be a bit biased...

These are all awesome, Miguel! Any one of them could have been your main shot, and are worthy of their own gallery. I was also struck by your comment that this is a weekly Balkan music get-together. That's got to be so fun! Once upon a time I had a roommate who was (and still is) a professional accordionist. He primarily played/plays blues and folk, but he was originally from the Balkans and it was always so fun when he'd have a gathering and play that traditional music. If such a weekly gathering was local to me, I'd be a regular.

HI @rayvonn, I bumped into a guy from Canterbury yesterday while I was doing my walk for yesterdays' pictures. As soon as I spoke he said "from England" and as he had a English accent I asked where he was from and he replied "Canterbury" so we bs'd for a couple of minutes and then went our merry ways. Thanks for sharing :2thumbs:
And ironically there were quite a few Canadians and Americans there today too.

Playing with reflections on this 1968 Buick LeSabre I stumbled across today. It was in a busy parking lot surrounded on three sides by ugly other vehicles or traffic, so I only had a couple of angles to work with. The car interior was black, but I converted this one to B&W as I liked the window reflections better in monochrome. There was a bunch of junk in the car - a motorcycle helmet, phone cables (I'm reasonably sure 1968 Buicks didn't come with bluetooth?), soda bottles, etc. So I underexposed severely to drop all that stuff into shadow. During post-processing (I used Nikon NX Studio on this one), I dropped the exposure some more.
