Odd day. I don't normally work Wednesday and Thursday nights. Took a couple of shots on the way home but wasn't sure how they'd work and then had to spend a bunch of time at VA medical appointments rather than sleeping in the mid-day today so I did do a safety shot. However, I did get lucky with one so here is one other from this morning

Color version of the B&W image I posted in the main thread. The photo I had pre-visualized was this color photo: I was drawn to the location by the sort of "Keith Haring" style of the wall painting, its colors, and the knock-knee'd tree. But on a whim I ran a favorite B&W treatment on the image in LR, and ended up liking the contrast and shadow on the bark better in the B&W image.

We took our two Goldens to the dog park today. A lot of their friends were there and they were playing pretty actively, so the trip wasn't conducive to dog portraiture at all. But my girl Charlee stopped long enough on the sidelines for this one frame. I immediately realized that I merged the top of her head to the horizon, but she was off before I could recompose. So straight to the outtake folder.

I was considering using this shot to document the strong, but still smooth veiling flare you can get from the old Elmar - but I ended up liking the shot I'm using today better after the square crop ...

M.

I think you made the right choice, Matt. The flare is interesting but your other shot, the official one, with the square crop, is very, very compelling in its own right.
